Experimental investigations of flows in porous media and chosen models of porous space

Abstract

The PhD thesis has an experimental character and contains a wide class of flows of liquid in grainy porous media's and in axially - symmetrical channels with periodically varying cross section. The experiments comprises stationary, non-stationary, linear and non-linear flows, as well as problem of flow stability loss and the consequent hysteresis of global flow characteristic. Relationships between the geometrical forms of flows and the type of nonlinearity of macroscopic flow characteristic were also discussed.
