## Jednoekspozycyjna holografia cyfrowa oparta na zjawisku samoobrazownia

#### Abstract

The thesis presents two methods of one-exposure registration of digital holograms in compact optical system that takes advantage of self-imaging phenomenon both in recording process and reconstruction algorithm. The experimental system is in the configuration of Mach-Zehnder interferometer to use the photosensitive matrix with maximal effectiveness. Inline hologram registration forces special recording and reconstruction algorithms providing the good quality of the obtained image. The phase-shifting method enables the cancellation of the DC term and the conjugated image. The technique of registration of the hologram with the use of special structure (SIDOE - Self Imaging Diffractive Optical Element) placed in the reference beam is presented in the thesis. SIDOE is a periodic phase structure, which creates its self-image in the plane of the photosensitive matrix, at the same time not decreasing the reference beam intensity. The hologram registration with four or two different phase values of the reference beam (depending on the algorithm: four- or two-step) is possible in this way. The hologram recorded in such manner is reconstructed by the use of special technique based on the phase-shifting method, but using the properties of the periodic structures to create Fourier images (self-images) and Fresnel images. The thesis contains detailed description of the reconstruction algorithms. Due to the mathematical consideration concerning the reconstruction process the numerical simulations have been compared to the theoretical predictions. The large accordance of the obtained images with developed theory enabled making additional simulations, that allowed to design experimental system and two-step SIDOE. Images reconstructed from holograms registered in the optical system were compared qualitatively and quantitatively with the simulation results. It must be emphasized that obtained experimental results stay in great accordance with theoretical predictions. The analysis comparing designed two-step method with other algorithms described in reputable journals was carried out in the thesis. It is worth noting that applied technique ensures very good quality of reconstructed images, but it does not need complicated optical system and special, technically-advanced recording devices. What is more, the optimized algorithm is simple and enables fast image reconstruction. Innovative usage of the selfimaging phenomenon allowed to avoid interpolation and approximation methods. However, the use of phase-only structure in the recording process of digital hologram ensures suitably large intensity of interfering beams, which reduces exposure time. Additionally, the designed method provides reconstruction with very comparable quality to those received by other research groups in the world. All these advantages allow to state that the described technique is the only one, which provides obtaining the images of such good quality in peerless, compact optical system and by the use of reconstruction algorithm of such simplicity.
