Abstract

The dissertation concerns control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo-drive. Commonly used PMSM servo-drive structures were presented. New, original feedback structures based on state variables and estimated load torque were discussed. Two methods of state controller synthesis were presented: linear-quadratic optimization and pole placement technique. Disturbance observer and artificial neural network based disturbance estimator were discussed. Control algorithm with static disturbance compensation and load torque observer was implemented in a digital signal processor. Simulation and experimental results validated high positioning precision and good dynamics of servo-drive. Robustness against permanent magnet synchronous motor parameters variation was demonstrated. Improvement of servo-drive dynamic properties by introducing of estimated load torque feedback into control algorithm was proved.
