Abstract

The main aim of the work is to propose method, which enables to obtain map projections satisfying the Chebyshev's criterion. According to the Chebyshev's criterion we can minimize differences between maximum and minimum of natural logarithm of scale in given area. This criterion is satisfied when the scale along boundary of a given area is constant. Author applies numerical methods to solve the problem. Boundaries are in the shape of polygons defined by coordinates of vertexes, local scale and convergence are approximated by harmonic polynomials. Projecting functions are developed into power series of complex variable.
