Abstract

The aim of this Thesis was to obtain macrodiols contain carbonate and ether carbonate fragments via non-phosgene methods. An important element of this work was to used obtaining oligomeroles as soft segments of polyurethanes. The first step, six-membered cyclic carbonates (trimethylene carbonate or neopentyl carbonate) were polymerized in the presence coordinating catalysts in the presence of catalysts prepared by mixing water with either diethylzinc or triethylaluminium at various molar ratios. A low molecular weight oligocarbonates were obtained. Oligomeroles containing carbonate fragments were synthesis in transesterification of dimethyl carbonate or diethyl carbonate with various glycols. The finally, polycarbonate diols prepared in coordinating polymerization and transesterification process were used for the synthesis of polyurethane elastomers of improved good mechanical properties and hydrolytic stability.
