Abstract

This doctoral thesis is an attempt of analysis and evaluation of shaping input currents and output voltages waveforms methods in matrix converter as a whole. It was undertaken because of the fact that information presented in available scientific papers have been of partial nature. They do not describe the behaviour of matrix converter when demanded output voltage frequency and amplitude and input displacement angle change. The essential aim of this doctoral thesis is to work out some mathematical models of converters with their control schemes and carrying out the analysis of chosen methods. Its aim is also to evaluate their suitability and usage in practice. The thesis contains, among other things, the results of detailed comparative research of different control methods and their influence on: range utility input voltage; participation of particular harmonics of input and output current and output voltage; THD value of input current; input displacement factor value. Research was carried out, taking into account changes of output voltage frequency and input displacement factor. these studies were followed by technical design and matrix converter laboratory model, which made it possible to control its actions using several PWM methods.
