Optimization of space bar structures alternatively loaded using decomposition method

Abstract

The goal of dissertation concern searching of the best solution for certain class of space bar domes. By selection of searched structure were foreseen as well mechanical and strength criteria. Such task, was requiring to build complex computer system, capable to determine proper parameters for considered structures and its evaluation accordingly to given criteria. The thesis of dissertation assume the possibility to built an effective compuuter program system which is capable to choose the optimal - the best parameters for considered domes, wich are loaded by set of given external loadings, and its evaluation. Such task was solved in sufficient way, giving in result set of 4 effective programs used sequentially. The elaborated metod can be applied to different types of structures - the other as it was made till now, using also an other evaluation criteria. Its operation was preseted and prooved on example of Lamella type dome. The set of the programs, which are in disposition of M.Sc. M.H.RHUMA permit to optimize the Schwedler domes, too. This are single layer trusses built on the basis of spherical net with axial symmetry. Their analysis is based on finite element metod in elastic range. There the attention was turned on 4 objective funtions: the mass of structure, only; its mass with cladding, maximal displacement of nodes measured in centimeters and the work of external losading on calculated ' displacements of nodes. The last criteria permit to evaluate the rigidity of dome. As te most important decisive variables were: the high of the dome by given constant its span and areas of the cross-sections of the tubular bars selected from declared catalogue. Presented example takes into consideration, only the 9 loading cases, superposed of the 4 elementary cases, only: the mass of the structure sceleton, the mass of cladding, technological loadings and snow loading. The wind loading was neglected for the reason of lack of credible experimental data. Mentioned program system is composed from own preprocessor INPUTDATA written by M.H.Rhuma in Turbo Pascal - generating input data to essential program TRUSSOL analysing of structure (author K.Donten). The last two programs, accessible on market - GRAPHHER and SURFER are producing the two- and tree dimensional diagrams, which permit in graphical way to find minimums of objective functions.
