Abstract

In the city conditions the travelling range of drive of the electric car of a minimalised battery mass is unacceptable. In order to extend the possibilities of utilization of unconventional drives necessary it is necessary to have additional power sources e.g. a flywheel. In the paper there have done energetic analyses for the energy accumulation system, that results in elaboration of selection criteria of such a system, taking into account the exploitation considerations of for the hybrid drive of a city car. Above all, some of assumptions made for describing the models were verified at the laboratory stand in the Heavy Duty Machinery Institute. A full dynamic analysis was carried out by computer simulation methods, using original mathematical models of all the components of the drive system, formulated by prof. Antoni Szumanowski and his team. For summing up the PhD thesis untitled. "Adjustment of the flywheel parameters for exploitation conditions of a city vehicle drive" proved the thesis that usage flywheel in the hybrid drives is reasonable especially in the city traffic, which is characterized by a large number of acceleration and braking.
