Modelling of the curvilinear motion of the car with active roll torque distribution

Abstract

This thesis investigated various possibilities of hydraulic actuation for Active Roll Control (ARC) system. The main aim was to find the weak points of the system in terms of its unsatisfactory response durong transient manoeuvers. Closed loop control strategy has been implemented for dual-channel system to enable roll and yaw control. Three different hydraulic arrangements comprising of varous actuation methods are compared. The influence of speed, lateral acceleration and driver steering input on main system indices such as body roll and yaw rate are being deeply investigated. Also, the impact of ARC application, in comparsion with passive vehicle, on comfort has been taken into consideration.

Praca obejmuje analizę ruchu krzywoliniowego pojazdu typu SUV wraz z systemem aktywniej kontroli przechyłu nadwozia - Active Roll Controll (ARC). W programie Matlab Simulink zamodelowane zostały trzy różne hydrauliczne elementy wykonawcze: silnik hydrauliczny wraz z przekładnią redukcyjną, siłownik hydrauliczny liniowy oraz siłownik hydrauliczny obrotowy (wahliwy). Parametry wszystkich trzech elementów wykonawczych dobrane zostały, tak aby uzyskać ten sam czas odpowiedzi układu. Następnie przeanalizowano różnice dotyczące mocy pobieranej przez wspomniane systemy oraz trudności związane z umieszczeniem elementów wykonawczych w podwoziu samochodów.
