Techniques and fabrication technology of membranes for gas separation development

Abstract

Capillary composite membranes were prepared. Membranes support was made of polypropylene and selective layer was made of poly (ether-block-amide) (PEBAX 2533). The attempts to prepare mixed-matrix membranes were made. In order to prepare mixed-matrix membranes, two types of zeolites, zeolite Na-Y and zeolite A-4, were added to the selective layer. The quality of the membranes were examined using an electron microscope. After deep analysis of SEM pictures best membranes were chosen and from them laboratory modules were prepared. A stream of nitrogen was passed through them to check their tightness.

Podczas trwania pracy badawczej wytworzono kapilarne membrany kompozytowe, w których część podkładową stanowiły membrany polipropylenowe a warstwę selektywną kopolimer blokowy poli(eter-blok-amid) (PEBAX 2533). Przeprowadzono próby wytworzenia membran typu mixed-matrix, w których do warstwy selektywnej dodano nanocząstek w postaci dwóch rodzajów zeolitów typu Na-Y i typu A-4. Jakość membran zbadano przy użyciu mikroskopu elektronowego. Z wybranych membran wytworzono moduły laboratoryjne i sprawdzono ich szczelność przepuszczając przez nie strumień azotu.
