Abstract

The purpose of the work was to design and construct a device generating mechanical oscillations with a strictly set amplitude and frequency. The device has research nature, adapted to work in laboratories of fluid streams. Its purpose is to study the influence of pulsations in the pipeline network on the values of dynamic errors in flowmeters. Flow pulsations in industrial pipeline installations disturb the proper operation of flowmeters. The sources of such pulsations can be compressors, pumps, motors that are both part of this installation and located next to it. The flowmeters are calibrated under steady-state flow conditions, without pulsation. This is an ideal case. In real field conditions, flowmeters are exposed to errors resulting from ubiquitous pulsations. The work consisted of several stages: preliminary calculations, designing parts and their manufacturing, creation and programming of the pulsation frequency meter, assembly and carrying out tests on a turbine gas meter. The assumption of the project was that the device would generate pulsations with amplitudes in the range of 2-80 m3/h and frequencies 2-60Hz, which covers the range of pulsation parameters most often found in industrial installations. The device consists of a standardized tee, wherein a teflon piston disturbs the flow of the fluid stream in one of the arms in the prepared sleeve. The piston is driven by a DC electric motor. The change of the amplitude is realized by changing the flywheel radius to which the piston is attached, while the frequency is changed by adjusting the voltage supplying the motor in the power supply. The device provides measurement of the frequency of generated pulsations, thanks to the constructed meter of this value. The project contains assembly drawings, drawings of parts that were made by an external entity and results of experimental research.
