Analysis of Hybrid drive with Flywheel

Abstract

The thesis presents an analysis of using flywheel as a secondary source of energy in hybrid propulsion and electrochemical battery as the primary source of energy. A Series hybrid drive structure powered by two energy sources. Main elements of this propulsion system are a rechargeable battery, flywheel, electric motor and transmission. A simulation model of a car, driving in the WLTC cycle and Warsaw driving cycle has been built and compared. Each component of propulsion has been modelled based on the mathematical equations and relationships which describes them. Next step was simulation research and adjustment of the parameters for two selected control strategies. Moreover, for comparison, a model of the pure electric vehicle has been taken into consideration at the end chosen parameters assessed and compared.
