Simulation of strength test of freight boogie frame Y25

Abstract

This work presents method of specifying the structural requirements of bogie frame based on the standard PN-EN 13749:2011. The purpose were a static test program on frame and verification the structural strength. In the first part this work, describes design, technical solutions and purpose of freight wagons. More specifically discussed design components of the freight bogie and described their role in movement of the vehicle The next chapter is dedicated for test object. This chapter presents types, applicability and the technical specification of the Y25 bogie . In addition, described design of this bogie; focusing on an accurate description of the: bogie frame , axle box suspension design, elements of running gear , support of the rail vehicle body, and brake system. The next part of this thesis, describes the requirements of the standards and the test method. It describes the requirements of strength of bogies in accordance with PN-EN 13749:2011. In this chapter describes the loads occurring during operation of bogies. Described a method of testing of finished bogies . Then presented the forces calculation procedure for different load cases and were shown forces and support arrangement. In the next chapter describes the successive stages of the tests Finite Element Method. Presented types of finite elements, definitions of linear static analysis, way to determine the boundary conditions and the reasons for calculation errors. Additionally, shows a simplified diagram of the construction and operation of FEM programs Finally were described the steps required to create a simulation model. The research began with a calculation of the forces. Before starting the test, it was necessary to calculate the forces for all variants of the load. Then it was created geometric model of the bogie frame in SolidWorks program. Subsequent operations required to create the simulation model : the division into finite elements and creating boundary conditions in HyperMesh program, numerical calculations in OptiStruct program and graphical presentation of results in HyperView program. In the final step, the obtained results have been precisely analyzed and described. Based on the results of the analysis, it was possible determine the strength of the bogie frame structure. In addition, was proposed to modifications to the design of frame, that will improve the properties of bogie.
