#### Abstract

Abstract A design of an injection mould with the use of lateral cores. The process of injection of the plastics belongs to a group of the processes of chipless processing. However, in comparison with metal die-casting process, we may notice that, apart from mechanical phenomena, physical phenomena during the process also play an important role. A result of injection is a product called moulding, which is characterized not only by specific geometry, but also special structure, being a result of the way of alloy flowing in an injection mould and direction of its solidification. The main factor affecting the quality of a moulding is constructional correctness of an injection mould, being a tool of the process, in which plastic solidifies into finished detail. Designing injection moulds is a complex and time-consuming process, and we can rarely get a correct detail in the first injection tests. It is hard to explicitly determine the time of designing a mould, because it is connected with the degree of complicatedness of a moulding and experience of a designer. The moulds are designed through sequential connecting of their functional blocks. Conceptual analysis of a tool (specific operational rules) is necessary to make it easier to create a design. Design computer aiding makes it easier to create drawings or simulation of the flow and cooling the plastic in a mould. The goal of this thesis was to design an injection mould for a hydraulic tee with the use of lateral cores mapping internal surfaces of a moulding. This thesis was divided into theoretical part with a product analysis and design part. Theoretical part includes: ­ a description of polymeric materials, their application and main methods of processing; ­ a description of injection process and injection moulding machines, the course of the process and parameters of injection; ­ main division of the injection moulds and description of hydraulic cylinders; ­ a description of the mouldings, their technological structure, dimensional accuracy and main manufacturing defects; ­ technical and economic analysis, including: determination of cycle time, selection of multiplicity and injection moulding machine; The design part includes: a description of a design procedure for particular technological and mechanical units of a mould, simulation performed using Moldflow software and assembly drawing with working drawings of mould elements.
