## Development of the HMI system for asphalt paver

#### Abstract

The purpose of this diploma thesis was to the development of a functional model of asphalt paver and to build an operator interface for this machine. The first part of the work presents general rules of road construction, which allows better understanding of the tasks performed by the machine. Next, the construction of the machine was discussed in detail, describing the roles of each of its components, taking into account different types of machines. There is also a description of the paver screeds, which are an inseparable and the most important element of asphalt paver. Attention was also paid to the control of the paver screed and how changing one parameter affects a number of other factors, which makes it necessary for many years of practice and experience to properly manage such a machine. In the next stage of work, the focus was on the role of automation in work machines and on what directions it develops in the case of paving for bituminous mass. The systems used today were described. The functional model was then built on the basis of previously collected information and the technical documentation of the Volvo P7820C ABG paver. It consists of two work cycles, arranged for different working conditions, as well as the structural construction of the machine with a detailed description of the systems used in it. It also described separate parameters that should be measured in each of them. Thanks to previous preparations, it was possible to build a diagnostic system with the division of parameters into a category depending on the priority of each of them. Control algorithms have also been developed for the main machine systems that work together. The last stage of the work was the preparation of the HMI system. It takes into account all previously collected information, and is consistent with the principles of ergonomics, so that it is clear and simple to learn, and at the same time facilitates the management of the machine and automates the work of its diagnostic system. Specialistic EasyBuilder Pro software was used during this task. The system has been designed in such a way that it can work with the Weintek eMT3150A touch panel. The paver parameters were simulated in the work, which allowed to present how the system reacts to alarm states and changes in machine control. Attachment to work is a video showing the correctness of the operation of the developed system.
