## The influence of the heat capacity of partitions public building on the seasonal heating demand

#### Abstract

In this paper, the subject of seasonal heating demand was raised, specifically the impact of the heat capacity of building partitions on its value. This thesis is divided into three parts. First of them contains the basic theoretical information, while the second refers to the research carried out on selected building materials. The third part contains results of these calculations of seasonal demand for heat. In the theoretical part, the following concepts are presented: seasonal heating demand and the formulas used to calculate it based on PN-EN ISO 13790, heat capacity, thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity and characteristics of selected construction material subjected to extramural research of the factors mentioned above. In order to show the dependency between heat capacity and seasonal heating demand, the research of selected construction materials by means of ISOMET 2114 was conducted. That allowed to determine their heat capacity, thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity. Subsequently the values included in the standards were compared to obtained values whereupon it was noticed that they are different. The differences between the measured coefficients and the projected selected materials are significant. The calculations of seasonal heating demand of analyzed objects, which were large-shop, kindergarten and, for comparison, multi-family building performed by using Purmo OZC. They were carried out in two variants. The first provided the values by standards of coefficients and the second provided values obtained from tests. These results were compared with each other. The analyzes specified the differences on seasonal heating demand after change the properties of materials.
