## The project of distribution warehouse for hazardous materials of selected classes

#### Abstract

The aim of the thesis is to design a distribution warehouse for hazardous materials of selected classes. As a part of this topic, the following aspects should be discussed: characteristics of selected hazardous materials along with the principles of their storage and transshipment, discuss the logistic task, shape the storage system and its dimension and evaluate it. The first chapter focuses on the description of selected assortment classes. Their characteristics, division criteria and packaging requirements in which the material should be transported are presented. The focus was also on the method and requirements for their storage and handling, in order to minimize the risks that the range of the assortment in question may cause. The second chapter contains a defined logistic task. It discussed the load forms of the assortment and their transformations, possible accumulation of cargo streams and the amount of annual trans-shipments at the entrance to the warehouse. The criteria for assessing the design solution were also distinguished. The values and assumptions adopted in this chapter were used to measure the designed object and specify the organization of the work. The third chapter contains information about the used technologies and the amount of material flow through the warehouse. Load devices and categories of human work have been also described in this chapter. The necessary sizes of storage space as well as elements of collective and personal protection which should be used in the facility were estimated. The flow of material is illustrated on the material flow card and the schematic drawing of the warehouse. All elements described in the third chapter made it possible to design the spatial layout of the warehouse. In the fourth chapter, the object has been dimensioned due to the number of employees and equipment needed. Calculations on the system and operating costs of the facility were done. These values show us the profitability of building such an object and provide the opportunity to make changes at the design stage, in order to minimize costs while maintaining appropriate quality. In the fifth chapter, technical and economic measures were calculated and hard-to-measure meters were described. The obtained values were analyzed. The diploma thesis is concluded with a summary.
