## Adjustment of the parameters of a home charging station for an electric vehicle with renewable energy sources usage

#### Abstract

The paper deals with issues related to renewable energy and electromobility. Solar panels and wind turbine as renewable energy sources was used. The main purpose of the paper is to select the parameters of the home charging station for an electric vehicle using the hybrid wind-solar system depending on environmental and geographic conditions. External conditions are determined by solar insolation and the wind speed in dependence on the region in which the charging station is to be located. For the proper operation of the charging station, the energy demand for charging of an example electric car was estimated and the appropriate parameters of wind turbine was chosen, as well as the parameters of photovoltaic panels. The simulation of the solar wind system in the Matlab & Simulink software was used to carry out the tests. With the simulation, it is possible to observe the power obtained from the wind-sun system what is the basis for determination of the time of charging the electric car. In the thesis was also considered the legal regulations regarding the construction of a home charging station and the profitability of such an investment. The aims of thesis include estimation of power demand in a home charging station, analysis and selection of wind turbine and photovoltaic panel parameters, determination of representative atmospheric conditions and selection of a suitable location as well as computer simulation tests of the hybrid wind-solar system. The thesis allows to broaden the knowledge on the infrastructure of charging electric vehicles and the suitability of renewable energy sources.
