## Analiza rozkładu przestrzennego zanieczyszczenia gleby wybranymi metalami ciężkimi i jego źródeł w okolicach Sławkowa

#### Abstract

The purpose of the thesis was to conduct a spatial analysis of soil pollution with cadmium, lead and zinc in the Slawkow area (Upper Silesian Industrial Region). In the thesis an attempt was made to identify the sources of pollution and to estimate the ecological risk connected with it. The thesis is composed of 2 parts: the theoretical part which introduces the issues connected with analysis and the research part in which an attempt is made to identify pollution, its sources and hazards. In the theoretical part laws in force in Poland are presented Iconcerning soil and base protection and agricultural standards. Phenomena connected with lasting of these elements in soil and their transformations in this time are described in detail. An extensive characterisation of the analyzed metals with their sources and health and environment influence is presented as well. A description of the analysed area - the Slawkow and Bukowno area, the Boleslaw community and forests occupying most of the area, belonging to the forest inspectorate in Chrzanow - is based on the generally available information supplemented by data obtained from the territorial self-government units. There follows a description of potential emitters of cadmium, lead and zinc operating on the analysed area - a mining-metallurgical plant in Boleslaw and zinc-works Stalprodukt. The research part contains statistical analysis of data, testing of spatial continuity (using variograms) and distribution of cadmium, lead and zinc map elaboration. A combination of the obtained results of spatial and Statistical analysis with the regulations in force and data on ecological aspects of increased concentrations of metals has allow to characterize reliably the soil condition in the Slawkow area in terms of cadmium, lead and zinc pollution and to evaluate the ecological hazard connected with it.
