## Electronic circuit module to measure electrical impedance in high frequency range

### Sergiusz Jan Staszczyk

#### Abstract

The result of the actions carried out is a working impedance measurement system. The model can be extended with additional functionalities, for example expand its measuring range, automate the measurement. Adding a function generator to the system would allow the module to be transformed into an impedance analyzer. Which would be greater functionality in testing processes. Completed tasks can be divided into parts such as: literature review related to the issue, designing a simulation model and testing it in SPICE programs, selecting the right components, building prototypes and checking the operation of the system during the tests. The created simulation model allowed to determine the correctness of the proposed solution. The operation of the system for various operational amplifiers was checked and the most favorable one was selected. Calculations of the resistor value of the differential amplifier and selection of diodes, which will be the most suitable for the created system, have been carried out. Correction elements such as a low-pass filter have been introduced to improve the operation of the device. The process of designing prototypes widened the system with elements facilitating the use of the module. One of them was the use of appropriate outputs to simplify the setup of the measuring station with other equipment. Care was also taken to communicate the device with the computer, which significantly affected the possibility of using the module. The system was also tested for the correct operation of the most important elements such as: repeater, differential amplifier or peak detector. The obtained characteristics were compiled and compared to those obtained in the LTspice simulation program . The performed research allowed to determine the measuring range of the constructed module, check the correctness of the results obtained in combination with the mathematical model and determine whether the obtained results are adequately reproducible for subsequent measurements. The result of the actions carried out is a working impedance measurement system. The model can be extended with further functionalities, for example, expand its measuring range, automate the measurement, among others by adding a function generator to the system, which would enable the module to be transformed into an impedance analyzer.
