Powering wireless sensors from alternative energy sources

Abstract

This paper presents alternative methods of generating power for wireless sensor nodes. Two energy scravening systems were built: piezoelectric harvester and hydrogen fuel cell power system. In both cases feasibility of application as a wireless sensor power source was experimentally verified.

W pracy zaprezentowano i omówiono szereg metod dających możliwość pozyskiwania i przetwarzania energii obecnej w bliskim otoczeniu człowieka. Zaprojektowano i wykonano dwa układy służące do czerpania energii - wykorzystujący piezoelementy oraz ogniwo paliwowe. Eksperymentalnie zweryfikowano możliwości ich zastosowania do zasilania czujników bezprzewodowych.
