## Methodology of selection of manufacturing devices in the situation of temporary increase in heat demand

#### Abstract

The work titled "Methodology of selection of manufacturing devices in the situation of temporary increase in heat demand" consists of five chapters. The first chapter presents the technological system and production facilities of the object in question, it means the Siekierki heat and power plant. This chapter also presents technological conditions that occur during operation between the boiler room and engine room equipment. The second chapter presents economic aspects related to the production of heat and electricity in the Siekierki cheat and power plant. These aspects are presented in five subchapters, discussing issues related to: operating and environmental costs; start up generation devices, as well as operational revenues and indication of which support mechanisms can be used to increase revenues from cogeneration (CHP) and renewable energy production. The third chapter discusses issues related to the methodologies of production optimization in power plants and combined heat and power plants. These issues included: presentation of the basic areas to be optimized; what the methodologies are based on for a given optimization; what the methodologies are for. In addition, the concept of economic burden sharing is presented, what it is about, what it uses. Additionally, there are examples of algorithms and programs available on the market that perform functions related to economic distribution of devices loads. The fourth chapter presents the methodology for the selection of manufacturing devices in the situation of a temporary increase in heat demand, based on a course of proceedings consisting of four stages. These stages are: selection of capacity intervals of generation devices or groups of devices if they are of the same type and / or their maximum efficiency is the same or similar; for selected intervals, calculation of average values of selected parameters that occurred in the period from which the data originated; on the basis of the means from the second stage, calculation of the cost of production of one GJ of heat and operating profit from its sale together with the electricity generated on it (if it was produced with heat on a given device); execution of two sets of results from the third stage: ranked production facilities according to the production cost of one GJ in heat; ranked production facilities by operating profit from the sale of one GJ of heat together with the electricity attributable to it, if it was produced on a given device. The fifth chapter contains calculations made on the basis of measurement data from 2017 and 2018 from the object under consideration, information contained in the second chapter and the course of action presented in the fourth chapter. The calculations were made for the following groups of devices: K5,6,7 and K16; K1,2,3 and 4; Tz1,2,3,5 and 6, detailing the origin of superheated steam; Tz7-K10, Tz8-K11, Tz9-K14, Tz10-K15, OXS1,2 and 3, detailing the origin of superheated steam. The results of the calculations are presented in tabular form or in the form of graphs and discussed. In addition, was calculated the sale price level for electricity generated using steam from boiler no.1 used in turbine no. 2 so that the operational profit would be at the same level as in the case of production from the boiler steam no. 2. What is suggested by the approximate price level for electricity to be reported for the RES price auction
