## Analysis of toxic components od exhaust gas from a diesel engine fueled with sunflower ester

#### Abstract

This work is aimed at analyzing and assessing the emission of toxic exhaust components from a Perkins 1104C-44 engine powered with sunflower ester and diesel oil. The work compares the unit emissions of toxic components after the use of two different fuels and tests were carried out that allowed obtaining the data necessary to formulate conclusions on the above issue. The first chapter describes the beginnings of the development of a compression-ignition engine, also discusses the problems arising from diesel fuel supply, and presents the reasons for looking for alternative fuels. The second chapter describes the topic of supplying a compression-ignition engine with conventional fuels and biofuels. This chapter also contains the division of biofuels by their state of aggregation and division by generation. The third chapter is devoted to the discussion of toxic components of diesel engine exhaust fumes. It describes the causes of these ingredients and the possibilities of limiting them. The fourth chapter is devoted to the topic of the characteristics of an internal combustion engine, it describes the speed and load characteristics. In addition, the characteristics were divided and the method of their preparation was discussed. Chapter five concerns tested fuels. The production method and their physicochemical properties are briefly described. The requirements for the tests according to ISO 15550-1 are discussed. This chapter also includes a description of the test stand and test methodology that resulted in specific emission of toxic components in accordance with ISO 8178. Chapter six presents the results of research in the form of tables and graphs. It also includes the analysis and evaluation of the tests carried out. The seventh and final chapter sums up my work in line with my goal.
