Security of home wireless router

Abstract

The thesis describes the research of selected standards connected with wireless network security and project of secure home wireless router. The thesis focuses Wi-Fi Protected Setup standard. Contemporary implementations and their resistance to attacks was analyzed. Project of secure router was made using open source software openWRT. Security of proposed solution was checked. As a result of research, modified protocol that increases security of WPS standard was proposed and tested for ease for deployment.

Tematem pracy jest zbadanie wybranych standardów związanych z bezpieczeństwem bezprzewodowych sieci lokalnych oraz przedstawienie projektu bezpiecznego domowego routera bezprzewodowego. W pracy skupiono się na standardzie Wi-Fi Protected Setup. Przeanalizowano obecne implementacje oraz ich odporność na ataki. Wykonano projekt urządzenia wspierającego standard WPS opartego o wolne oprogramowanie openWRT. Sprawdzono bezpieczeństwo przedstawionego rozwiązania. W wyniku badań zaproponowano zmodyfikowany protokół, który podnosi bezpieczeństwo standardu WPS oraz sprawdzono łatwość jego wdrożenia.
