## Research and analysis of the modified intake system for the Formula Student vehicle

#### Abstract

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the impact of the intake system modification, which consists in installing the turbocharger with air cooling, on the motor fuel parameters. The desire to increase the power output and torque is related to the formula student competition in which the car will be involved, that is why all the work done on the vehicle comply with the SAE regulations. Changes made to the intake system resulted in the need of modifiying other engine systems, such as the lubrication and cooling system. Due to the direct connection of all of the working systems, the subject of their interaction was also raised. The next stage of research is empirical studies of a bolide on a chassis dynamometer, in order to illustrate the impact of the intake system modification on engine parameters, such as power output or torque. At the same time, due to the registered data it was possible to calculate the fuel consumption in a rotation speed function. This made it possible to assess the influence of the hypertension boost on the amount of consumed mixture. Due to the obtained data regarding course of the derivative rotational speed in regard to time during the acceleration of the car, it was possible to assess the impact of the boost pressure on the dynamic properties of the vehicle.
