## Technological process and machining programming of the swinging clamp

#### Abstract

This work presents the technological process step by step and machining programming of the swinging clamp. At the beginning, the structure of the technological process is presented. Next, the process was characterized in terms of production volume, an analysis of the structure’s technology was carried out and machining allowances were selected. Attention was also paid to the proper selection of the stock and the properties of the C45 material so that the entire process was carried out with high quality at the lowest possible price. The next step was to develop an operational plan. Eight operations with major operationsto be performed are described in detail. There were also placed specifications of machines used in the process: CORMAK S-200 RHA band saw machine, FWR40JU2 vertical milling machine and VF-3 machining centre CNC with TR210 rotary table. The majority of technological equipment and machining parameters were selected using the Sandvik Coromant ToolGuide application. All this information was included in the technological documentation (technology card, instruction sheets and instruction sketches) so that the technologist could easily carry out the technological process. An additional aspect that should be emphasized is the use of modern technology for the production of this part. The works were planned on a numerically controlled machine tool that performs machining in 5-axes. A machining center was used together with the Haas rotary table. The use of such automation has contributed to increased accuracy through fewer fixings on one machine and reduced overall machining time. Geometric models of workpieces were developed for each operation using the SolidWorks program. Then, an assembly consisting of a SCHUNK machine vice (the topic of interim project) and swinging clamp was created and the coordinate system for the milling machine was established accordingly. A tool library was created in the Mastercam program using the Sandvik Coromant ToolLibrary program and the wizard itself on the Sandvik Coromant website. Planning, contouring, drilling and chamfering were introduced. During this time it was necessary to create additional layers and planes so that the stages could run successfully. The next step was to check on the simulation whether all surfaces were machined. Drawings have been inserted from individual stages of the SolidWorks, Sandvik Coromant and Mastercam programs. An estimate was also made to check the profitability of the project. Costs such as: costs of direct materials, direct labor costs, production preparation costs, work station costs and general plant costs were included. The last issue was the conclusions summarizing the entire technological process and its cost-effectiveness.
