## Parameters selection of control system, which can provide passengers comfort during elevator ride

### Mateusz Pierzankowski

#### Abstract

The thesis aims to design of a hydraulic passenger lift with an indirect drive - 2:1, allowing for convenient passenger travel. The initial chapters present the history of lifts as well as their functionality and performance in contemporary times. They define which devices are qualified as elevators and how they are divided. Afterwards, the issues of comfort are presented, which allow to determine the requirements of the lift work. The functional model of the hydraulic elevator and calculations of the dynamics of the actuator controller along with the rigging system and the lifted cab were included. Thereafter preliminary calculations describing the designed hydraulic crane were carried out. Requirements for the rigging system were computed, and the lift’s lifting cables were selected on their basis. The next step was the calculation of the actuator regarding the parameters defining its construction. Forces and pressures prevailing in the system, allowing the selection of hydraulic hoses, were computed. Strength issues of the actuator and cables in the system were investigated. Based on the previously computed system parameters and assumptions regarding the hydraulic system, the required parameters of the hydraulic pump and the motor driving it were calculated. Further part of the thesis contains the process of system design in the Amesim environment. In the first place, the elevator operation cycle and the course of individual floors were determined. Afterwards, the hydraulic system was designed. Next, the control system was planned, selecting the controller settings that meet the thesis assumptions. In conclusion of the thesis the simulation results of the designed elevator were presents and subjected to conformity assessment with the calculations and initial assumptions.
