Extending play boundary of Guadian system in Oculus Rift CV2 environment

Abstract

The work discusses the creation of the proprietary Oculus PhotoGuardian program to expand the interaction zone of the Oculus Guardian system. For this purpose, photogrammetry algorithms have been used, allowing the reconstruction of the 3D model of the room based on photos. Reconstructed model is then used to calculate the optimal perimeter of the area, matched to the objects in the room. In addition, a graphical interface has been created in order to allow the user to use the program in an intuitive way.

Praca omawia stworzenie autorskiego programu Oculus PhotoGuardian w celu rozszerzenia strefy interakcji systemu Oculus Guardian. W tym celu zastosowane zostały algorytmy fotogrametrii, pozwalające na rekonstrukcję modelu 3D pomieszczenia na podstawie zdjęć. Następnie model ten wykorzystany zostaje do wyliczenia optymalnego obwodu obszaru, dopasowanego do przedmiotów znajdujących się w pokoju. Dodatkowo stworzony został interfejs graficzny pozwalający użytkownikowi na posłużenie się programem w intuicyjny sposób.
