#### Abstract

Thesis describes and analyses issue of the elasto-plastic rolling contact. First part includes theoretical description of this issue with usage of FEM analysis (chapter two). Next, two theoretical cases were calculated and analyzed (chapter three). The last part of this work features attempt to model process of five time rolling of the metal plate (chapter four). ANSYS Mechanical APDL as used to both modeling and numerical calculations. In theoretical part described where classical elastic contact according to Hertz theory, theoretical basics related to deformation in plastic area and FEM analysis. Additionally, shortly described are contact and plasticity in FEM analysis. Next, first testing example was calculated – interference if an elastic penetrator into an elastic half-space. Numerically received results revealed to be very accurate in comparison to analytical calculations, basing on Hertz theory. Using this example, also another thing was compared: accuracy of results depending on mesh density, mesh element type, element type in the contact area and type of contact modelling. Second testing example puts together cases of interference an elastic penetrator into an elastic and plastic half-space with the analysis of the influence of friction. The second part of this chapter compares frictionless movement plastic half-space with rolling of elastic penetrator on plastic half-space. Analysis of stress and displacement distribution was held basing on information from theoretical part and on literature. Great similarity was noticed between movement without friction, and rolling. In an engineering example, analysis from first testing example was used when choosing mesh, element type and kind of contact model. Basing on results from the second testing example, movement without friction was used as the approximation of this problem. Pressure values depending on nodes displacement were compared with experimental example. Satisfying results were achieved. Stress and displacement distribution were analyzed basing on literature and information from theoretical part.
