## Project of forwarding and transport services for the transport of dangerous goods in a selected route

### Piotr Materka

#### Abstract

Presented diploma thesis describes the concepts of handling of dangerous goods in international transport routes, including the necessary requirements for truck, trailer, staff involved in the realization of shipment and required transport documentation. Undertakes consideration about the efficiency of using the cargo space by properly setting the load, the choice type of transport and the necessary protection to minimise the risk of damage or destruction goods. Describes the legal regulations defining the conditions of transport with particular emphasis on the transport of dangerous goods and the necessary documentation. The work consists of two main parts: forwarding and transport services. Applied split of diploma thesis better shows real application, diversity, but also complementarity both parts in the transport process. The concept of forwarding service characterizes dangerous substances considering the threats resulting from their chemical and physical properties. It describes the necessary requirements for packaging, signing and strength of the load form and the basic requirements for transport conditions. It was based on criteria of safety and obey law, with particular emphasis on international regulations, global standards and norms. The calculations of stresses, stability and strength presented in the diploma thesis, in addition to their obey legal conditions, also show rational and necessary approach to the safety aspect. The described assumptions are fully achievable. All activities described above are not influenced by external elements. They depend only on the accuracy and precision of crew involved in the implementation of the assumption. The transport service focuses on determining the most favourable route from the point of view of safety and minimizing the occurrence of damage in case of release dangerous substance. It presents crew work time schedule, included the needs of rest, vehicle service and the comfort of persons involved in the realization of shipment. The transport service is presented as an estimation which is influenced by many elements beyond the control of the persons responsible for assumptions. The thesis describes transport as a series of elements, often variables forming a complex plan, the implementation of which depends primarily on people's involvement. Analyses the basic problems solved and developed before start transport process. It focuses on security aspects, obey the law and efficiency of dangerous goods transport. It places the task of applying effective, practical and economically justified solutions, which are the main challenge in the implementation of transport processes.
