## Examinations of the selected properties of polymer-modified mortars on a recycled ceramic aggregate

#### Abstract

The aim of the thesis was analysis of the examinations results of modified mortars which contained two polymers (DLP 212, DLP 210 – based on ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) and anassessment of their impact on the usable and mechanical properties of mortars. Present thesis consists of four main parts. The first part of the work are the studies of literature and standards which relate to issues of mortars used in building. There were presented design methods of mortars and there were summarized recycling materials which are used in the production of mortars. In the last chapter of the first part there were described the types and the methodology of the examinations. In the second part of the thesis there were described the laboratory tests and the results of the examinations. This research work contained conducting marks for six types of mortars and for four variants of adhesive mortars for External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS). For this purpose in the laboratory have been prepared mortars modified with polymers, composed on the natural aggregate and with the aggregate exchange 50% (exchanging the natural aggregate to the ceramic aggregate). The examinations on the mortars include: density, consistence, strength tests, adhesion tests, surface hardness tests, absorbability, resistance to freezing and thawing and an impact of increased temperatures on the strength and water absorpion. The third and the fourth part of the thesis contains the analisys of the test’s results which show the impact of using polymers on the technological properties of mortars. Additionally, there were compared two types of polymers and there were made an evaluation of test’s results due to the type of aggregate.
