## Analysis of the impact of the size and location of technological openings in multi-field slabs on the value of internal forces and dimensioning results

#### Abstract

The engineering thesis contains an analysis of the impact of the size and location of technological openings in multi-field ceilings on the values of internal forces and dimensioning results. The work consists of three basic parts. The first (theoretical) part describes various types of monolithic reinforced concrete floors and contains recommendations available in the literature for shaping and dimensioning of openings in slabs based on beams or walls. In the second part of the work, the ABC Płyta program was selected as the most optimal for analyzing the considered issue. As a reference, the model was chosen consisting of a 15cm thick slab and 20x80cm beams forming a 3x3 array with 7m axial spans. This model was then modified by placing holes in it, in accordance with the adopted methodology of analysis. The analysis of the issue was divided into three stages. In the first stage, the impact of opening location on internal forces and dimensioning results was analyzed. In the second stage, the influence of the size of the openings (square in the first part and rectangular in the second part) on the same parameters as in the first stage was checked. The third stage contains the analysis of selected information contained in specialist literature. In the third part, all the results of calculations are presented using the generated maps of moments and the necessary reinforcement with appropriate readings placed on a fixed grid of measuring points. Selected results, from the most important places for the construction, were extracted in the form of tabular summaries for beams and slabs separately. Based on the results of the analysis, it was confirmed that compliance with the recommendations contained in the literature sufficiently protects the plate structure (bidirectionally reinforced based on beams) against the potentially dangerous influence of technological openings. An important issue that should be further analyzed is the impact of openings on relieving the structure and redistribution of internal forces, changing the nature and value of torsional moments in beams and the effect of accumulation of bending moments in plates (on the edge of the opening). The study also stated that a similar analysis is needed for plate-column systems, since the analogous (as in the analyzed cases) positioning of openings in these slabs leads to a much greater increase in internal forces and the necessary reinforcement than in the case of beam-based plates.
