He is professor of Warsaw University of Technology and graduate of the Medical Department of the Medical Academy in Warsaw. He has two specializations: in the field of epidemiology and public health. He completed Master of Business Administration (International MBA) programme at the Business School, Warsaw University of Technology; Health Economics studies at the Faculty of Economics, University of Warsaw; PhD programme in management at the Faculty of Production Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology; internships and foreign trainings at York University, University of Liverpool in Great Britain, McMaster University in Canada.Marcin Czech is lecturer at the Business School of the Warsaw University of Technology, he cooperates with the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw, and for nine years he also worked as lecturer at the Department of Pharmacoeconomics at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Warsaw. For 10 years he has been member of the Management Board of the Polish Pharmacoeconomic Society, acting in the past as the President and currently President-elect of the organization. He is active in the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research. He is founding member and member of the authorities of the Polish Society for Coordinated Care. He participated in the development of medical technology assessment guidelines of the Polish Agency of Technology Assessment and Tariff System.He is the author of over 200 works and reports in the field of management, health economics, pharmacoeconomics and quality of life, published both in foreign and Polish magazines. He promoted over 100 master’s and diploma theses, he is member of working groups (including the Polish Academy of Sciences), editorial boards and scientific specialist periodicals, he is reviewer of research works (also as expert of the National Science Centre), PhD theses and books, scientific articles, he participated in the implementation of scientific grants also those financed by the European Union. He worked in international business and advisory environment where he was responsible for health economics and Real World Evidence.Marcin Czech was honoured with the Chancellor’s Awards of the Warsaw Medical University, including the first-class individual scientific award; the Chancellor’s Award of the Warsaw University of Technology for the educational programme and the PwC Company “Best and Brightest” award.

Undersecretary of State in The Ministry of Health

In the Ministry of Health of Poland he is responsible for: 

  • initiating, coordinating and supervising tasks carried out by the Department of Pharmaceutical Policy and Pharmacy and the Department of International Cooperation;
  • supervising the activity of the Administrator of the Consumer Accident Monitoring System;
  • supervising the National Drug Institute in Warsaw.
Achievements

an individual scholarly award issued for the book “Pharmacoeconomics in pharmaceutical care”; the WUT Rector’s Award granted for introduction of a new form of classes for students of Pharmacy’s Management and Economics; The Best and Brightest Award awarded for the outstanding performance during the MBA course; awards for the best dissertation and the best master’s thesis; doctoral thesis with distinction; exceptional results in the specialization exam.
