Biogram

Jedrzej Drozdowicz, a young scientist, an electronics engineer specializing in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imaging and programmable logic (FPGA), received his M.Sc. in Engineering with honors in 2015 from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of Warsaw University of Technology (WUT), Poland.

In 2015, Jedrzej Drozdowicz started his Ph.D. studies with his main research interests focused on interferometric techniques of synthetic aperture radar signal processing, specifically, three dimensional imaging under supervision of professor Piotr Samczynski. He has also attended the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Training Program in Missile Technology.

While still a student, over the period 2011-2014, he was employed as the electronics engineer and programmer by Robotics Inventions, a new product development company from Warsaw, Poland. Since 2014, he has cooperated with the Radar Techniques Research Group led by professor Krzysztof Kulpa, operating within the Institute of Electronic Systems, WUT, Poland.

In 2016, he was awarded a research grant from the National Science Centre, a government agency in Poland, for his project “Three-dimensional synthetic aperture radar imaging using optimized, complex trajectory of the radar carrier movement”. In this project he assumed a role of the project manager and principal investigator.

In 2019, he started another project funded by the National Science Centre, “Interferometric radar imaging using matched trajectory of the radar carrier”. As part of the grant, he completed a six-month research stay at the Radar and Surveillance Systems Laboratory in Pisa, led by professor Marco Martorella, where he conducted research on inverse synthetic aperture radar imaging.

He is currently engaged in the RING project funded by the European Defence Agency and continues his work on 3DSAR, including developing an open-source SAR simulator.

During his research career, Jedrzej Drozdowicz received two awards at international conferences - Student Paper Distinction for the most innovative implementation of a novel signal processing technique in practice for "IEEE 802.15.4 Compliant In-Building Wireless Sensor Network" at Signal Processing Symposium 2015 and Young Scientist Contest 2nd Prize for the paper "Point Spread Function Estimation for Airborne Three-Dimensional Synthetic Aperture Radar" at International Radar Symposium 2020.

He has participated in international research projects since 2014 and has been a member of the NATO SET-250 "Multi-Dimensional Radar Imaging" research group since 2018. He has been a reviewer in five reputed journals and has been participating in the organizing committee of Signal Processing Symposium biennial conference since 2015. He is a member of IEEE since 2015 and SPIE since 2017. He holds the PRINCE2® Practitioner Certificate in Project Management, PRINCE2® Agile Practitioner Certificate in Project Management and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®).

* presented value of the Hirsch indexOpening in a new tab is approximative calculation obtained in the Repository based on the scientist's publications (including autocitations) in the Repository and Internet information analysis. The value is close to the value obtained with the Publish or Perish system. In general it is higher than the value given by the Scopus or Web of ScienceOpening in a new tab sites. In the case of undervalued number, first of all take care of completeness of the Repository.
