Research interest

Sensors, utilization of biological patterns in planning of walking machines motion including humanoids, synthesis of  control methods and development of  robotic  control systems,  mobile robots navigation, humanoids.


HISTORY OF MENTORING AND SUPERVISION

In the years 1989-90 she was the secretary of the Team of Experts advising the Ministry of National Education creating  standards for  education in Automatic Control and Robotics. She was a  member of the team developing the strategy of Warsaw University of Technology, responsible for  internationalization.  She is  the head of  Advisory Board of Warsaw University of Technology Preparatory School. She was the local coordinator of the following  Erasmus Mundus programs: WillPower (mobility program), ECAVOIRE (promotion of education and help in job placements)  and  is a local coordinator of HERITAGE  (mobility program).  She was the evaluator  of research activities  at the   faculties of Jiaotong University (Shanghai, China), the reviewer of several appointments for professor/lecturer/reader  position (i.e. UK, Sweden, Botswana). She was acting as a reviewer  of doctoral thesis in Poland (several) and abroad (Singapore - several, Thailand), reviewer of  professorship and promotion applications (i.e. Botswana, UK, Poland).

 

INNOVATION/COMMERCIALISATION ACTIVITY

  1. Development of  research controller for industrial robots  (team member)
  2. Design of communication protocol for the communication between different hardware and  different operating systems  (QNX and PC-104 on one side and a set of  6 Motorola TCP universal controllers on  the other side);  the customised  real-time based communication protocol   was designed, implemented and tested.
  3. Design expertise in  hexapods  and quadrupeds
  4. Design, and implementation of   real-time control  and navigation system for a group of autonomous walking hexapods; machines moved autonomously following geographical coordinates, changing the path  while avoiding obstacles and  changing the gait  depending on the terrain,  the motion information was sent to distant main control  station.
  5. Design and implementation of  control system for a quadruped walking machine together with its motion synthesis using different gaits
  6. Development and implementation of leg-end force control  method for walking machines
