Graduate of the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography, specialisation: photogrammetry. The academic at the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography of the Warsaw University of Technology since 1984. The doctor of technical sciences since 2003. Her doctor's thesis „Evaluation of the usefulness of the projection moire effect in photogrammetric surveys of deformations of the backbone” (under the doctoral supervision of Prof. A. Bujakiewicz), was awarded by the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology. Dorota Zawieska is the Associate Professor of Engineering Sciences since 2014, at the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography of the Warsaw University of Technology. Research specialisation: close-range photogrammetry, automation of photogrammetric surveys, digital image processing, 3D modelling and visualisation of objects, integration of multi-source photogrammetric data, utilisation of terrestrial laser scanning and digital images in different sectors of economy, in particular in protection of the cultural heritage. In the period 1998 - 2001 she headed the grant of the Committee of Scientific Research, within the Strategic Governmental Programme concerning the utilisation of modern survey techniques for medical prevention of professional diseases of backbones, with consideration of ergonomic arrangements of places of work. She was the main contractor of many grants financed by the Committee of scientific research and the head of the Dean's grants. She is the co-author of the patent - the system and devices for diagnosing incorrect stature. This system was implemented in numerous medical and rehabilitation centres in Poland. In 2006 she was awarded as the "Golden Engineer of the Year" in the area of Science, in the competition organised by the Technical Review of the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations. In the period 2009-2011 she was the project manager of the post-doctoral research grant "Multi-image matching of close-range photographs for automatic reconstruction of photorealistic 3D models of objects". Dorota Zawieska is the author of 1 monograph and the author or the co-author of more than 60 publications in Polish and foreign periodicals. She is the author of many court expert opinions in the field of photogrammetry and photointerpretation. She conducts lectures on: Foundations of Engineering Photogrammetry, Spatial Orientation of Images, Close-range Photogrammetry, Photogrammetric Standards. She has been the tutor of more than ten master's theses; many of them were awarded in competitions for graduates. Since October 2008 she is the Dean's plenipotentiary in the field of public procurements. She is also the Secretary of the Board of the Polish Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and the member of the Editorial Board of „Reports on Geodesy and Geoinformatics”.
