Associate Professor at the Faculty of Mechatronics, Warsaw University of Technology. Since 2012 the director of the Institute of Metrology and Biomedical Engineering, PW. He received the title of professor in 2017, a D.Sc. degree in 2011 and Ph.D degree in 2002. From 2005 to 2006 he was a Visiting Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, École Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada. He is a specialist in advanced geometrical measurement techniques, and in the coordinate measuring technique. He also deals with quality engineering and the theory of reliability of mechatronic devices. Author of 2 books and 130 papers in scientific journals (including more than 30 JCR journals) and conference proceedings. His research was carried out within a dozen research projects, also international ones, financed by from NCBiR, KBN, Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Foundation for Polish Science and others. Most of them headed. He promoted 6 Ph.D. and several dozen masters and engineers students. He is a reviewer in habilitation procedures, doctoral theses and in many foreign journals from the JCR list. Member of the Council of Metrology at the President of the Central Office of Measures, Member of the Council for Standardization at the Polish Committee for Standardization and member of the Scientific Council of the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements. Multiple scholarship holder of the Foundation for Polish Science. In 2012 he was awarded the Prize of the Polish Prime Minister for his scientific achievements. From 2012 to 2020 he served as Director of the Institute of Metrology and Biomedical Engineering, and then in 2020 Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics at the Warsaw University of Technology. He is currently Vice-Rector for Development of the Warsaw University of Technology for the 2020-2024 term.
