ordinary professor at the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, WUT, Head of Division of Structural and Functional Materials. Scientific interest comprises magnetic materials, nanomaterials and nanotechnology, smart materials – especially magnetic shape memory alloys, magnetocaloric alloys as well as non-Newtonian, and magnetorheological fluids. He was a coordinator of national targeted projects: “Metallic, ceramic and polymeric nanomaterials” (2000-2004) and “Smart materials” (2005-2008). In the years 2009-2013 he coordinated project “Smart passive body armour with application of rheological and magnetorheological fluids”, realized within the Innovative Economy Programme. In totals, he took part in realization of over 30 research projects. Publication score comprises over 220 published papers in refereed journals and four books. To the organizational activity one can include (in term 2012-2016) positions of a members of: University Senate, Senate’s Personnel Commission, Rector’s Strategic Advisor, member of Section of Polymeric Materials Committee of Metallurgy PAS, Polish Society of Materials Science, Programme Committee of the journal Composites Theory and Practice and member of the LEIT-NMP Advisory Group for Horizon 2020 – The Framework Programme for Research and Innovation”.
