Graduate of the Faculty of Fine Mechanics, Warsaw University of Technology [WUT] (1984). After a military service (1986) employed at the Institute of Design of Precise and Optic Instruments (currently Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics [IM&Ph], Faculty of Mechatronics, WUT). He received PhD degree and assistant professor status in 1997. Specialist in the field of design, computer modeling and testing of fine instruments and mechatronic systems as well as measurements of mechanical quantities in electrical microdrives (with respect to tests, diagnostics and control). Co-author of one monograph (PWN) and one academic textbook. Author and co-author of more than 30 publications and over 100 conference papers, as well as 5 patents. Manager of 3 and co-worker in 7 state scientific grants; manager of other 10 scientific projects at IM&Ph. He received 4 Rector Awards and the Silver Order of Merit. Author and co-author of programs of 5 new courses, head of 3 didactic laboratories. Supervisor of over 30 BSc and MSc theses. Twice (2001, 2002) a visiting professor (2 x 1 month) at the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Metz (France). He completed a 6 month industrial internship at the R&D Centre of Tools (Warsaw) and 1 month internship at Neckarwerke (Esslingen, Germany). He is a Vice President of the Standardization Commission for Metrology General – at the Polish Committee for Standardization, and was a member of the Section of the Measuring Apparatus and Systems (Committee of Metrology) of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2000-2010). He was a member of the scientific/program committees of 10 international/national conferences more than 20 times, and 5 times organized or coordinated a cyclic Polish–German “Mechatronic Workshop” (IM&Ph WUT/TU Ilmenau). In the years 2005-12 (two terms), he was a Deputy Dean for Education Affairs at the Faculty of Mechatronics, WUT. Since 2012 he has been the General Director of IM&Ph.
