Ryszard Kisiel was born in Łomża in 1950. He graduated from Warsaw University of Technology (WUT, Poland) in 1974 with a M.Sc in Material Science. His professional carrier begun the same year as an academic teacher in Department of Electronics WUT. He was responsible for the courses connected with basic of electronic equipment construction and thin as well as thick film hybrid circuits. Kisiel received Ph.D. in Electron Technology from Warsaw University of Technology in 1983 and D.Sc from Wrocław University of Technology in 2010. His research and development activities have been in the areas of surface mount technology, especially in applying lead-free technology and using electrically conductive adhesives in PCB assembly as well as high temperature assembly of SiC structures. He is currently employed at Warsaw University of Technology, Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Institute of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics, as the assistant professor. He is a member of the IMAPS-Poland Chapter and IEEE CPMT Society
