Characterization of Mechanical Properties of Prints
AbstractThe chapter discusses the various types of mechanical properties of ink or varnish layers obtained on polymer substrates that decisively influence the quality of printed plastics. It addresses the problems of abrasion resistance of printed matter and scratch resistance of ink or varnish layers. Abrasion resistance tests of printed or unprinted polymer materials may be performed in various types of devices. Resistance of the materials subjected to attrition processes may be evaluated in different ways. The test methodology of listed properties and their evaluation has been discussed in detail.
