A discussion of the reliability and performance of the power supply systems used in the airport security systems

AbstractThe article discusses the issues involved in the airport security systems. Their correct operation depends not only on the security subsystems used, but also on their power supply system. The functional analysis of the power supply system used in the security systems is based on the guidelines provided in PN-EN 50131-1:2009: Alarm systems - Intrusion and hold-up systems - System requirements. Reliability and performance were analysed and the relations were determined to calculate the probability of system operating in the following functional states (symbolic approach): full operational capability, safety emergency and safety unreliability.
