SWITCHED RELUCTANCE MOTOR MECHANICAL FAULTS DIAGNOSTICS METHODS

Abstract

Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is the brushless electric motor made from iron that can meet certain needs as reliable electric drive. It does not need the magnets and it is easy to construct and manufacture. It can also be characterized as very resistant to mechanical damages. However, since the motor is durable, it can certainly be submitted to all of the types of mechanical damages. In this research I focused on dynamic eccentricity and load imbalance. The first phenomenon presented more promising results. In dynamic eccentricity centerline of shaft has variable distance from centerline of stator. The measured signals were vibration (acceleration) from accelerometer and current and then they are analyzed in frequency domain. The eccentricity was altered from 0 to 0.25 mm with load and speed changing. For the rotor imbalance a special bolts were inserted to the special shield on the test bench. All of these experiments produced numerous results.
