Threshold Analysis of 2-D Gain and Index Coupled Photonic Crystal Lasers

Abstractp-10: This work presents the threshold mode analy- sis of index and gain coupled photonic crystal lasers. Two symmetries, i.e., square and trian- gular lattices, and two orthogonal polariza- tions, i.e., transverse magnetic and transverse electric, are investigated in order to determine optimal design and conditions in terms of the lowest lasing threshold. The analysis is based on the coupled mode theory.
