Influence of organic-mineral fertilisation originating from brown coal on the improvement of sorption and retention properties of sandy soils

Abstract

The aim of the work was to determine the changes in some chemical , physico-chemical, and water properties of sandy soil under the influence of one application of organic-mineral fertiliser originating from brown coal. it was found that the mineral-organic fertiliser made from brown coal when applied once in the soil originating from loose sand favourably influenced soil reaction, sorption properties and an increase in the total content of organic carbon in the soil. The fertiliser applied caused a decrease of the soil solid phase density, density of the soil with undisturbed structure, air capacity and an increase of the moisture level and soil field water capacity.
