Interaction of water droplets with propagating gaseous flames
AbstractResults are presented from experimental and analytical studies on the influence of single water droplets on premixed gaseous flame propagation. The research was focused on the mechanism of interaction of single water droples with propagating methane flame. Experimental data were obtained in vertical standard tube 1.2 m. in length and of 0.05x0.05 m2 in cross-section. Several different mechanisms of water droplets behaviour during their contact with flame front, depending on droplet size and flame velocity, were observed and described.
