Polarization control based interference microwave photonic filters

AbstractIn this paper we present a concept of multi-line Microwave Photonic Filter (MPF) based on polarization beam splitting and polarization control in each line. Coefficients of investigated filter are determined by attenuation of its lines and that on the other hand can be manipulated by change of the polarization in the fiber. Presented results involve scattering parameters (S21) measurements of optical path over polarization control unit rotation, scattering parameters (S21) characteristics of investigated filter and transmission optimization capabilities.
