On some evaluation of FE implementation techniques

Abstract

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 216a verifies roof strength,the main factor of passengers safety in rollover crashes. This study evaluates different FEA implementation techniques for FMVSS No. 216a roofcrus h test simulation . Due to the slow run of the test, study focuses mainly on quasi- static analyses. However, their results are also compared with the results of fast dynamic and static procedures. The numerical model used in the roof crush simulation is the Dodge Grand Caravan ederal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 216a verifies roof strength , the main factor of passengers ’ safety in rollover crashes .
