Energetic efficiency of mixing and mass transfer in single phase and two-phase systems

Abstract

The aim of this work is to present the results of identification of energetic efficiency of mixing and time constants for mixing using mathematical models and the test chemical reactions. Efficiencies of micromixing in homogeneous systems as well as efficiencies of drop breakage and mass transfer in two-phase liquid-liquid systems in stirred tanks and rotor-stator mixers are studied. Examples of already published experimental data and new results obtained using some new systems of test reactions are presented. Theoretical bases of practical methods of identification of energetic efficiency of mixing and mass transfer are presented and new expressions for analyzing efficiency problem are derived, presented and applied.
