AN ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF VARIABLE GEOMETRY TURBINE ADJUSTMENT: A COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF ALTERNATIVE METHOD AND NOZZLE RING ADJUSTMENT

AbstractComparative evaluation for 2 methods of VGT adjustment: nozzle ring adjustment and adjustment in the turbine with vaneless volute is presented in the paper. Estimation was conducted based on 2 parameters: maximum available depth of adjustment and inclination angle of curves that described algorithms of adjustment. Based on results of investigations it was established that nozzle ring adjustment has small advantage over VTV adjustment.
